One day, God looked down at the world and saw that the people were being very wicked and not taking care of the earth. God decided to do something about it.

God told Noah to build a big boat called an ark and then gather two of every kind of animal, one male and one female, to bring with them onto the ark.

God explained that he was going to send a great flood to cleanse the earth, and the ark would keep Noah, his family, and all the animals safe.

Noah and his family toiled away for many years, working really hard to build the ark.

They made sure to follow God’s instructions, and made the ark very strong. They also collected enough food for themselves and the animals, which they would need during the flood.

Once the ark had been completed, Noah, his family and all the animals went inside.

As soon as Noah and his family were safely in the ark, it began to rain. And then it rained and rained for forty days and forty nights.

Eventually, the floodwater covered the entire world, but the ark floated on the water keeping them dry.

Being cooped up in the ark like that, it must have felt as if the rain was going to last forever, but Noah and his family trusted God. They took care of the animals and waited for the rain to stop.

After forty days, the rain did finally stop, and so Noah sent out a dove to try and find dry land. The dove quickly returned, but after seven days, the dove was sent out again. This time the dove came back with a freshly plucked olive leaf in its beak, which meant there must be dry land nearby.

Noah and his family were so happy, they knew the flood was almost over.

When God told them it was time to leave the ark, they opened the doors. Noah’s family and the animals stepped out onto dry land.

They were happy and grateful to God for saving them.

God then made a promise to Noah that He would never send such a big flood again.

The Story of Noah appears in the Book of Genesis, Chapters 5 to 9.

The bible tells us that God flooded the earth to destroy man (together with the animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky) due to the wickedness of man.

The Bible presents us with some genealogical information in Genesis 5. From this information, as well as Noah’s age at the time of the flood, it is possible to calculate that 1656 years had passed from Adam to the flood.

The Bible does not make mention of Noah having any daughters, only his 3 sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. However, Noah did have 3 daughter-in-laws.

The Bible tells us that the ark was 300 cubits long by 50 cubits wide by 30 cubits high.

A cubit is the length from the bottom of the elbow to the tip of the middle finger and is approximately one and a half feet. This means that the ark measured 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high.

There is no conclusive length of time to be found in the Bible. However, based on Noah’s age when he had his first son and his age at the flood, many Bible scholars estimate the time taken to construct the ark to be between 50 and 75 years.

The Bible tells us that Noah was 600 years old when the flood happened. If we take the estimate of between 50 and 75 years to build the ark, then that would suggest Noah was between 525 and 550 years old when he started building the ark.

Although the Bible does not specify if anyone helped Noah build the ark, it is usually assumed by Bible scholars that Noah, his sons Sham, Ham and Japheth, and their wives, would have all helped build the ark.

The Bible tells us their was one pair (male and female) of every species of unclean animal and 7 pairs (male and female) of every species of clean animal.

The Bible tells us that it was God who shut Noah in the ark.

There is some debate among Bible scholars as to the exact number of the days, due to the number of days Noah was on the ark before the flood, the exact day Noah left the ark, some conflicting information in Genesis, and debate over which calendar the ancient Hebrews used to measure a year.

Popular figures for the number of days Noah was on the ark include 370, 371, 372, 377 and 378 days.

The Bible tells us that when the waters receded the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.

God told Noah that there would never again be a flood to destroy the earth.

The Bible tells us that Noah was 950 years old when he died.
